Hissein Brahim Taha, the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), took to the organization's official social media page to congratulate Azerbaijan on successfully conducting snap parliamentary elections.
According to Report, the congratulatory message highlighted that upon the invitation of the Azerbaijani government, the OIC General Secretariat dispatched a delegation of authorized observers to monitor the extraordinary parliamentary elections held on September 1, 2024, in the Republic of Azerbaijan. The Secretary General emphasized that the parliamentary elections also encompassed Azerbaijan's territories liberated from occupation.
The OIC Secretary General's message stated that the organization's delegation observed the preparations for the elections, the voting process, and the vote counting stage. Additionally, the OIC mission held meetings with the electoral bodies of the Republic of Azerbaijan and organized a briefing regarding the voting process.
"Summarizing its monitoring functions, the OIC delegation noted that the electoral process was conducted transparently, freely, and in an organized manner, with high voter turnout," added Hissein Brahim Taha.
