Peru celebrates Day of Restoration of Azerbaijan's Independence

The diplomatic mission of Azerbaijan hosted an event in Peru on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the restoration of Azerbaijan's independence, the Azerbaijani Embassy in Mexico told Report.

At the beginning of the event, a minute of silence was observed in memory of Azerbaijanis who died in the Patriotic War.

The event was attended by members of the diplomatic corps accredited in Peru, congressmen, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Peru, City Hall of Lima. Local media informed the guests about the history of Azerbaijan's statehood, the difficulties after the restoration of independence, the exceptional services of great leader Heydar Aliyev in the modern history of Azerbaijan, and the achievements of Azerbaijan under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev.

The event featured works by well-known classical Azerbaijani composers, videos dedicated to the history and culture of Azerbaijan, and dishes of Azerbaijani national cuisine.

At the same time, in honor of the 30th anniversary of the restoration of our independence, the building of the municipality of Miraflores, the main historical district of the capital Lima, was illuminated with the colors of the national flag of Azerbaijan.
