Since the first day when Azerbaijan gained independence, good friendly relations have been established between the country and Israel - Jews in Azerbaijan, as in a very tolerant country, have always been treated well, Moses Bekker, Doctor of Philosophy in Political Science, an expert on interethnic religious relations, told Report.
“Also, one should not forget that Azerbaijan is a Muslim state, not Islamic, but Muslim. This is a very important factor for Israel,” he said.
Bekker stressed that Azerbaijan and Israel are an example of how the Muslim and Jewish states can coexist completely calmly and have mutually beneficial relations and conduct trade.
“Today’s conference on the preservation of the heritage of the Jews in the Caucasus is very important for the formation of a new common worldview,” the professor added.
According to Bekker, this conference brought together scientists who talk about very important things and values, and accordingly, all this will contribute to an even greater rapprochement between the two peoples, two religions.
“A center of the Azerbaijani language and culture will also open in Israel, which will strengthen the positions of both countries,” he added.
Therefore, holding such a conference in Baku is a significant event for the expansion of bilateral relations, according to the expert.
