"A few years ago, even before she was appointed the First Vice President of Azerbaijan, Mehriban Aliyeva received the highest award of the CIS - The Star of the Commonwealth. And Mehriban Aliyeva is truly a star of not only Azerbaijan and the post-Soviet space. Her activity as the head of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation has made her famous all over the world," Mikhail Shvydkoy, the Soviet and Russian Art Critic and the Representative of the President of the Russian Federation told Report's Russian bureau.
He said that it is no accident that Mehriban Aliyeva has the high status of the UNESCO ambassador, which she received owing to the significant number of cultural initiatives made by Azerbaijan on the international platforms.
"Becoming the first vice president of the country, Mrs.Aliyeva continues this noble humanitarian activity not only in the cultural field but in socially-oriented projects that have to do with charity, science, and education," Shvydkoy said.
The Russian President's special representative noted that owing to this activity, Azerbaijan 'has become a center of international initiatives - forums, conferences on multicultural diversity, as well as interreligious and international cooperation.'
"A birthday is a happy occasion to express what you have on your mind. I want to wish Mrs.Aliyeva a long life and energy to continue that great activity which she carries out for the welfare of her country," Shvydkoy said.
