Sahiba Gafarova informs Fuat Oktay about Azerbaijan's peace initiative

On July 18, Speaker of Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova met with the delegation led by the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, Fuat Oktay, Report informs.

The speaker said that Türkiye, as always, supported Azerbaijan during the 44-day Patriotic War. After the Patriotic War, the signing of the Shusha Declaration by the heads of state of our friendly and brotherly countries raised Azerbaijan-Türkiye relations to a new level.

Speaking with satisfaction about his visit to Azerbaijan, Oktay shared his impressions of his meeting with President Ilham Aliyev yesterday. He said that the framework of alliance between the two countries created within the framework of the Shusha Declaration gives very serious opportunities.

Fuat Oktay once again expressed his gratitude for the fraternal support of the Azerbaijani state and people to Türkiye during the February earthquake.

During the conversation, the chairman shared his views on the importance of parliamentary diplomacy, the prospects of cooperation within the TurkPA framework, the further expansion of relations between two countries in economic, trade, energy, transport, and other fields, and the huge projects implemented in the region.

The sides also exchanged opinions on other issues of interest to the parties.
