Azerbaijan is an important partner country of Slovakia in the South Caucasus region, which was confirmed by the opening of the Slovak embassy in Baku at the end of 2019, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovakia Martin Klus said following his visit to Azerbaijan, Report informs.
“During my official working visit to Baku last week, I reaffirmed Slovakia’s interest in continuing political dialogue and strengthening cooperation with an emphasis on the trade and economic sphere. The high dynamic development of the region where Azerbaijan is located also motivates small and medium entrepreneurs from Slovakia, who are increasingly interested in intensifying contacts with Azerbaijani partners,” he said.
The secretary of state added that “negotiations with Azerbaijani officials - Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Khalaf Khalafov and Azerbaijani presidential aide Hikmet Hajiyev - confirmed mutual interest in deepening bilateral relations. At the same time, we exchanged views on topical regional and global issues and identified promising areas for strengthening cooperation. We see new opportunities not only in the energy sector or the segment of new technologies, but also in tourism.”
