The involvement of Azerbaijan, Turkey, and Pakistan is essential to the efforts of the US Government in pulling out all military equipment and personnel from Afghanistan, Peter Tase, an international relations expert, told
In May, the United States plans to begin the withdrawal of its troops from Afghanistan, announced on April 14 by US President Joe Biden.
According to the expert, logistically it will be extremely difficult for the US to pull out all military equipment from Afghanistan.
“We have to emphasize that President Biden has been wrong on almost every major foreign policy and national security matter over the past four decades, since his early days when serving as US Senator. Most of the equipment will be shipped by air and the land routes through Pakistan and Central Asia will also be used. With the recent public statements of President Biden delivered in support of the fascist regime of Armenia and recognizing the fake ‘Armenian genocide’ is expected to be very difficult for the White House to ensure the use of Airport Facilities in Baku and Istanbul. In Pakistan, Washington will have to pay a fortune to secure the passage and transportation – via air and by land – of military equipment and soldiers leaving Afghanistan,” Tase said.
According to him, this is a critical moment in Biden’s presidency.
“The White House has failed to mend strategic ties with the most important geopolitical European player and that is Turkey. A similar attitude was practiced towards Azerbaijan as Washington was silent and practically (diplomatically) inactive during the forty-four days of the Second Karabakh war (September – November 2020); and unreasonably continues to maintain icy relations with Baku,” he concluded.
