Turkish envoy: Glad my desire to visit Kalbajar has come true

"To visit Kalbajar was my long-standing desire, and I am grateful to the president of Azerbaijan for this opportunity," Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Cahit Bagci told journalists, Report informs.

“We were able to see vandalism and destruction in Kalbajar, as well as in other liberated territories. I was especially sad to hear about the massacre in the tunnel. Many do not know about this tragedy. Thank God that today the tricolor flag of Azerbaijan is also flying here,” said the Turkish ambassador.

The Turkish diplomat also expressed hope that former internally displaced persons would soon be able to return to Kalbajar.

Representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Azerbaijan arrived in Kalbajar on May 31. More than 80 diplomats and military attachés from more than 50 countries and 10 international organizations are taking part in the trip.
