Türkiye calls on Georgia to join 3+3 platform

Türkiye calls on Georgia to join the 3+3 platform to find joint solutions to regional issues, including those in the South Caucasus, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said.

According to Report, Hakan Fidan was delivering an opening speech at the 3+3 ministerial meeting.

Fidan noted that the 3+3 consultative platform provides countries in the region with an opportunity to assess cooperation possibilities.

"The idea of creating this cooperation mechanism emerged within a few weeks after the adoption of the trilateral statement [between the leaders of Azerbaijan, Russia, and Armenia on November 10, 2020]. This platform is designed to ensure the search for joint solutions to regional issues, including those of the South Caucasus. Unfortunately, one of the countries in the region is not represented here, but the platform is still called 3x3. I would like to emphasize once again that our close neighbor and friend Georgia will always have a place on this platform; they can always join," he said.
