Pavlo Pavlish, a politician serving as a People's Deputy of Ukraine from Servant of the People, expressed his gratitude to the state and people of Azerbaijan for the support provided at a time when the Kherson region was facing an ecological tragedy, Report informs.
Stating that more than 3,500 houses were flooded in the region, more than 20,000 people were affected and people were displaced, the deputy said that the help of Azerbaijan, other countries and volunteers is extremely important for them.
The representative of the party emphasized that there is a lot of work to be restored after that. Recalling that most people were rescued on the right bank of the Dnieper, Pavlish said that along with volunteers, rescuers also played an important role in this case:
"People have indeed been rescued, but they need to be provided with housing soon. Currently, cleaning works are underway in Kherson. We need construction materials and equipment to carry out construction and restoration works. We call on governments and volunteers to help us with this. People supporting each other allows us to look to the future with hope."
