The geopolitical changes that have taken place in the South Caucasus over the past year may be a new example for all post-Soviet countries after 30 years, said former Swedish Ambassador to the OSCE, expert Veronika Bard.
Report's European Bureau noted that there are favorable conditions for a permanent end to the 30-year-old conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan in the South Caucasus, which has paralyzed the region:
"I think that the parties must be strong-willed to the end and stay away from revanchist tendencies for the future welfare of their people. Today, the requirements of important UN Security Council resolutions in the South Caucasus have almost been met. The parties are required to maintain it until the end. The world is already undergoing a new change, and the fate of the nations must no longer depend on outside imperialist power but the will of their own people."
