Victory over pandemic in a separate country is impossible unless all countries get rid of it, Report informs, citing Hande Harmanci, a representative of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Azerbaijan. The situation in Azerbaijan is currently stable, therefore, the country has mitigated some of the rules, Harmanci said noting, however, that people should not forget that the pandemic continues both in Azerbaijan and worldwide.
"A declining trend in the number of infections results from a strict quarantine regime and restrictions. When the restrictions are lifted, the numbers will inevitably increase again. The dynamics of the pandemic is as follows: the infection rate begins to decrease after lockdowns and increase after some mitigations. If a new coronavirus strain is detected in our country, infections may grow faster. Therefore, everyone must observe the rules. Only in this case, will we be able to keep the situation under control," he said.
