Despite the onset of cold months, the absence of a sharp increase in the number of coronavirus infections is desirable and suggests that the epidemiological situation is under control, specialist expert of the Ministry of Health, infectious disease specialist, Tayyar Eyvazov, told Report.
He said that in recent times, the number of new coronavirus cases had been fluctuating in minimal numbers, and active patients also increased and decreased at certain intervals:
"Unless a new, mutant strain capable of significantly evading acquired herd immunity emerges, we can conclude that the situation will continue in this way. Our advice to the public remains the same as it has been throughout the pandemic."
Recently, Azerbaijan has seen a relative growth in cases of coronavirus infection. The number of active patients is over 500.
