"There are diseases for which a lifelong immunity develops after a single vaccination. Unfortunately, coronavirus infection does not belong to this group," said Tayyar Eyvazov, an infectious disease specialist at the Ministry of Health, Report informs.
He noted that the body's artificially acquired immunity decreases after some time: "High-risk individuals are recommended to take a booster dose for more reliable protection. This practice is applied not only in Azerbaijan but in all countries of the world.
"I call on people to appreciate the opportunities they have because fewer cases are associated with vaccination involvement. The situation is controllable. The number of citizens receiving a booster dose is sufficient. Those who have not been infected in two years or have caught the infection should also be actively involved in vaccination."
