Due to the decrease in the number of coronavirus infections, some pandemic-related facilities and modular hospitals in Azerbaijan have been suspended, the Management Union of Medical Territorial Units (TABIB) told Report.
As part of measures to combat COVID-19, the activities of modular hospitals under the auspices of TABIB are regulated per the increase and decrease in the number of active infections:
"The number of patients treated in pandemic-related medical institutions operating in the country has been reviewed and analyzed. Due to the sharp decline in the number of infections, some pandemic-related facilities, including modular hospitals, have been shut down in order to optimize and efficiently use all types of resources."
TABIB added: "Regular services have been restored in some regional and Baku hospitals involved in the fight against COVID-19."
As for the future of medical staff working in special modular hospitals, the organization said that they would continue their activities in the post-pandemic period to provide standard medical services:
"COVID-19 control units and modular hospitals were established in subordinate enterprises. Those operating here were doctors working in hospitals. In other words, no one has been dismissed. They were only involved in the fight against COVID-19 and they will continue to provide traditional services."
Notably, the number of active coronavirus patients in the country is 308 people.
