Specialists at the Northwestern University of the United States have found that people who walk at least 7,000 steps a day reduce the risk of death from natural causes,
The study involved 2,110 women and men aged 38 to 50 years, whose physical activity was monitored since 2006. The participants were divided into three groups: in the first category, people took less than 7,000 steps a day, in the second - from 7 to 10 thousand steps a day, in the third - more than 10,000 steps.
The results showed that the risk of death from natural causes in the groups of participants with high and moderate physical activity levels was much lower than in those who took less than 7,000 steps per day.
