WHO donates 300,000 medical masks to Azerbaijani Justice Ministry

In support of the fight against COVID-19, the Azerbaijani Office of the World Health Organization (WHO) has handed over 300,000 medical masks to the General Medical Department of the Justice Ministry, Report has learnt from WHO’s Country Office.

This aid is part of the German government's 121-million supply of masks through the World Health Organization for countries affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Of the medical masks, 926,000 items were sent to Azerbaijan.

The event was attended by WHO Representative in Azerbaijan Hande Harmanci, Chief of the Main Medical Department of the Justice Ministry, General of the Medical Service Rafail Mehdiyev, who signed a handover act.

The medical masks will be distributed to local partners, including non-governmental organizations, for the use of health workers and those, who are in direct contact with the population at the forefront of the fight against the pandemic.
