WHO rep: Improving skills of health workers very important

Vaccines used against many diseases save lives. During the pandemic, a large number of coronavirus vaccines were used, which affected the number of infection cases, said Hans Kluge, WHO regional director for Europe, who is on a visit to Azerbaijan, according to Report’s correspondent dispatched to Shamakhi.

The WHO representative noted that a number of diseases can be prevented by providing first aid: “Of course, for this, people must trust the primary health care system. Therefore, it is very important to improve the skills of medical workers.”

Hans Kluge shared his memories of the period of his life when he worked as a therapist in Belgium: “I provided first aid to people, the citizens received me in their homes as a friend and believed me. We underwent new professional development trainings every year. The government provided us with all the necessary equipment for medical services. In other words, this work needs full support.”
