Azerbaijan has extradited two foreign nationals who were wanted internationally and had been detained within the country's territory to Romania and Luxembourg, Report informs, citing the press service of the General Prosecutor's Office.
The office stated that they submitted petitions to the Baku Court on Grave Crimes from the competent authorities of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg for the extradition of French citizen Cedric Michel, born in 1987, who is accused of committing economic crimes and has been placed on the international wanted list. They also submitted a petition from Romania for the extradition of Turkish citizen Oguz Atalay, born in 1975, who is suspected of illegally transporting migrants as part of an organized criminal group and is also on the international wanted list.
"By the court's decision, based on the European Convention on Extradition and its Additional Protocols, the detained individuals were handed over to the competent authorities of Romania and Luxembourg, accompanied by a special convoy from the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice," the statement emphasized.
