Azerbaijan's Interior Ministry warns people of scams in rental market

The Interior Ministry of Azerbaijan has appealed to citizens and residents of the country, Report informs.

“Some people advertise apartments on real estate sales sites for a price much lower than the actual cost. When calling, they ask potential tenants to send prepayment or a month’s payment to their bank account so that the house is not given to someone else. At the beginning of the academic year, more uninformed people become victims of these scams.

"We once again bring to the attention of our citizens that they should not trust such people and not pay in advance without seeing the apartment. Those who face a similar situation can apply to the 102 Call Center of the Internal Affairs Ministry, the local police stations or our social network pages,” the ministry said.
