Man who tried to kill Jose Bernardo to face trial again

The Baku Court of Appeal has held a preliminary hearing on the complaint of Abutalib Huseynov, accused of stabbing TV presenter Jose Bernardo and his brother Rafael Huseynov.

According to Report, the meeting chaired by Judge Elmar Rahimov clarified the questionnaire data.

The review meeting is scheduled for February 25.

Huseynov was sentenced to 12 years in prison by the Baku Court on Grave Crimes.

The incident took place in November 2019 at 29 Khanlar, Pirallahi district. According to the indictment, Abutalib Huseynov stabbed Jose Bernardo, born in 1989, and his brother, Rafael Huseynov, born in 1988, in a dispute.

As a result of search operations conducted by the Pirallahi District Police Department, Abutalib Huseynov, the former convict, was detained. He was charged under Article 29,120.2.4 of the Criminal Code (attempted murder with special cruelty or general danger).

Jose Bernardo, an Azerbaijani citizen, has long hosted television programs.
