The recent forest fires in the country are primarily caused by the effects of global warming, Colonel-General Kamaladdin Heydarov said during his speech at the meeting dedicated to the discussion of forest fire safety issues held at the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Report informs.
The minister emphasized that, in addition to the effect of global warming, the human factor remains the main reason for the occurrence of fires:
"Some people's disregard for simple fire safety rules and irresponsible behavior lead to fires in our national treasure forests and damage to our forest fund, flora, and fauna, which has been formed over decades. Therefore, for the timely prevention of forest fires, all relevant institutions need to act in a coordinated manner."
