Probe into alleged beating of Tofig Yagublu dropped

Court proceedings kicked off following Tofig Yagublu's appeal over the use of physical violence and moral pressure against him have been completed, Report learned from the press service of the Prosecutor-General's Office.

The Sabail District Prosecutor's Office probed Tofig Yagublu’s appeal alleging he was beaten and subjected to physical violence and moral pressure on December 1, 2021, at Fountain Square while participating in a protest demanding the release of Saleh Rustamli on hunger strike.

The probe found that the circumstances presented by Tofig Yagublu in his statement were not confirmed, as a result of which, due to the lack of corpus delicti, on December 30, he was refused to have a criminal case initiated on the basis of the collected materials.
