The Azerbaijan Swimming Championship starts today.
Report learned in the press service of the Azerbaijan Swimming Federation that about 140 athletes will take part in the competition, which will last three days.
Swimmers will compete in 50m, 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m and 1500m freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly events.
Swimmers from 15 different clubs and sports societies of the country will compete in the championship, which is held in accordance with the charter and approved regulations of the International Swimming Federation, the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Azerbaijan Swimming Federation.
Swimmers from Iranian clubs will also try their strength in the competition. The purpose of the tournament is to promote swimming, increase interest in this sport, organize mass participation, including re-forming the composition of the national team that will take part in international competitions in 2022.
The winners will be awarded diplomas from the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Azerbaijan Swimming Federation.
