Azerbaijan's national air carrier AZAL, in collaboration with the Innovation and Digital Development Agency (IDDA), now allows passengers to use digital ID cards through the mygov app to purchase tickets to Nakhchivan at the Baku ticket offices. This process significantly speeds up ticket issuance, Report informs, citing AZAL.
In the near future, this option will also be available at AZAL ticket offices in Nakhchivan.
Passengers are no longer required to carry a physical ID when purchasing a ticket. They can provide the necessary identity verification details via the mygov app.
According to the relevant Decree signed by Ilham Aliyev, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, citizens' submission of ID card information through the mygov application will be considered equivalent to submitting a physical ID card.
This improvement not only simplifies the ticket purchasing process but also enhances data security, which is especially important in today's digital age.
