A feasibility study for the construction of the second phase of the Baku port will be completed by the end of this year - the beginning of next year, head of the Department of Strategic Planning and Development of Baku International Sea Trade Port CJSC Khudayar Hasanli said, Report informs.
He noted that due to the technical feasibility study, the number of bridges needed for the Baku port will be determined: “After the feasibility study is prepared, a construction plan and design will be developed. According to the initial project, with the completion of the second phase of construction, the annual cargo handling in the port will be increased to 25 tons, including 500,000 TEU containers.”
The first stage of the construction of the Baku port was completed in 2018, thus, the volume of cargo transshipment in the port amounted to 15 million tons per year, including 100,000 TEU containers. Cargo transportation through the Baku port, which has high technical capabilities, located at the intersection of the East-West and North-South international transport corridors, is increasing every year.
