Kazakhstan, EU discuss cooperation development along Middle Corridor

Astana has hosted a meeting between Kazakhstan's Minister of Transport, Marat Karabayev, and the European Commission's Director-General for International Cooperation, Henrik Hololei, along with the EU Ambassador to Kazakhstan, Kestutis Jankauskas. The key focus of the discussion was the upcoming launch of the EU-Central Asia Coordination Platform on June 12, aimed at fostering cooperation along the Middle Corridor.

During the meeting, special attention was given to the development of the Transcaspian International Transport Route and its potential to serve as a key alternative route. The parties also discussed promising infrastructure and investment projects that could effectively unlock the full potential of trans-Kazakh corridors.

Kazakhstan and the EU expressed mutual intentions to develop close cooperation within the framework of the newly established Coordination Platform. This platform is expected to play a crucial role in strengthening EU-Central Asia ties and promoting economic growth and connectivity in the region.
