Shahin Mustafayev: Communication with Nakhchivan will be established by passing through Iran via new bridges

A communication with Nakhchivan will be established by passing through the territory of Iran via the bridges that will be built near the Aghband settlement of Zangilan and in the territory of Nakhchivan, Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev told journalists in Zangilan, Report informs.

Mustafayev said that a mutual agreement was reached and the project of the bridge was prepared. In addition, restoration work was carried out on the banks of the Araz River, and the river was returned to its former course. At the same time, it is planned to create the customs checkpoint infrastructure.

The Deputy PM noted that 1,100 cars, 30 buses, and 15,000 people will cross the border on the Aghband Highway within a day.

This road will also serve transit cargo transportation. It will be important for both Azerbaijan, Iran, and the region. This road is necessary infrastructure for the East Zangazur economic region. As a result, the region will become a logistics center.

According to him, a railway bridge is also planned to be built in the area. The entire infrastructure will be implemented within a year.
