Taxis cars in Azerbaijan to meet at least Euro-5 standard

Taxi cars in Azerbaijan must meet at least the Euro-5 environmental standard.

Report informs that this was reflected in the "Requirements for the technical indicators, internal, and external design of vehicles used in passenger transportation by regular and taxi cars" approved by the Cabinet of Ministers today.

According to the information, a vehicle that has passed more than 8 years from the production year specified in the state registration certificate will not be given a license card defined by the law "On Motor Vehicle Transport.".

Motor vehicles that have passed more than 15 years from the production year specified in the state registration certificate cannot be used for passenger transportation by taxi.

Taxi passenger cars must be equipped with video cameras that cover the entire cabin and are equipped with a memory device that can store the recorded data for at least 1 month.

This requirement will enter into force on July 1.
