"Prospects for logistics opportunities are being discussed at the 12th meeting of the Transport and Communications Council in Turkey," Secretary General of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States (CCTS) Baghdad Amreyev told the meeting, the local bureau of Report informs.
According to him, today the volume of cargo to be transported at the international level is growing rapidly, there is an increase of 2-2.5 times in cargo transportation: “This is a big indicator. New routes and solutions are needed to succeed in this direction. There are new routes now and we are evaluating them."
B. Amreyev said the countries were working to harmonize the existing legislation in this area.
“Currently, we are evaluating new corridors in the East-West direction. This includes the Trans-Caspian International Transport Corridor. Also, the reduction of duties on international cargo transportation is one of the main topics of discussion.
Speaking at the 12th meeting of the Transport and Communications Council, he stressed the importance of the Zangazur corridor.
“After the historic victory of Azerbaijan, there are historic opportunities to raise the level of freight traffic in the transport sector. There must be a will to do it. President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev demonstrates such a will. This is a great opportunity to maximize the historic moment. I hope that Armenia will also take a constructive position on this issue."
