On April 16, an anti-tank mine was discovered on a roadside in a densely-populated village during a visit by a group of residents of the Gunashli village of the Kalbajar District to their village, Report informs.
A total of 20 people, including residents of Kalbajar, representatives of government agencies, and a film crew of ITV, were visiting the village.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the anti-tank mine was buried there between November 10 to 25, 2020, in order to cause mass casualties against the civilian population.
This fact once again proves that Armenia is continuing the war of mines against the civilian population, the people of Azerbaijan. Some 80% of the mine maps, submitted by Armenia to Azerbaijan some time ago, were fake. Thus, it turns out that Armenia continues to commit war crimes by concealing the location of landmines, aiming to kill innocent people again and again.
Over 15,000 hectares of land in the liberated areas have been cleared by the engineering and fortification units of the Ministry of Defense. In total, 6,095 anti-personnel, 2,172 anti-tanks,s, and 9,368 unexploded ordnances were found and destroyed.
To date, 8,612 hectares of land have been cleared through ANAMA, 14,757 unexploded ordnances, 10,838 antipersonnel mines, 5,183 anti-tank mines, 30,778 mines, and UXOs have been rendered harmless.
