Russian political expert: Armenia has severed its most recent ties with Russia

"Armenia directly says that it does not want any truce, no ceasefire. It wants the war to continue. The fighting never stopped. The day before, as soon as the ceasefire was announced, Armenia tried to win back some positions, hoping that Azerbaijan stopped advancing. By this missile strike, which is undoubtedly a terrorist act, Armenia has shown that it simply does not need a peace." Andrey Petrov, a senior analyst at the Vestnik Kavkaza information and analytical agency, said in an exclusive interview with the Russian Bureau of Report.

"Azerbaijan gave Armenia the last chance to resolve everything in peace the day before since the Azerbaijani army was in a stronger fighting position, continued to advance, and there is no doubt that by the end of the month Armenia would have had to surrender. On Friday night, Azerbaijan took such a big peace step that it agreed to a ceasefire. Thus Armenia could avoid unnecessary casualties on its part. Now, this strike shows that Armenia wants the resumption of hostilities. I think the war will soon resume in full, and all further victims from the Armenian side and all the Armenian blood will be on the hands of the Armenian leadership, which went to such a terrorist act," he said.

Petrov commented on the rocket attacks from Armenia on peaceful cities of Azerbaijan: "There is no doubt that by firing at Azerbaijani cities from the territory of Armenia, the military and political leadership of Armenia is trying to provoke Azerbaijan to strike at the territory of Armenia. In this case, they will appeal to the CSTO and Russia that aggression is waged against Armenia and demand that they fulfill their obligations and protect the Armenian territory."
