"I am glad to return to Azerbaijan after it won the 44-day war. I hope to visit here again when all IDPs return to their homes," Report informs that John Kilclooney, Member of House of Lords of the UK, said.
The British lord noted that he had previously been in Azerbaijan during the first Karabakh war and saw with his own eyes all the terrible conditions in which refugees and internally displaced persons lived.
"Therefore, I am very glad to return here after the victory of the country. I really hope to visit here again when all the internally displaced persons return to their lands," he said.
John Kliclooney stressed that he was impressed by the pace of restoration work carried out in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan, including the construction of the Fuzuli airport.
The British Lord noted that Armenia is conducting a very active propaganda campaign against Azerbaijan, spreading misinformation that is completely wide of the mark.
“Sometimes we hear negative words about Azerbaijan, that different ethnic or other minorities are treated unfairly. However, this is untrue, and I was convinced of this. I visited Guba and saw the attitude of Azerbaijanis towards Jews, who live here on equal terms with Azerbaijanis, in tolerant conditions."
