Azerbaijan’s victory in the 44-day war completely changed the situation in the region, said former US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Robert Cekuta, speaking at the panel session “South Caucasus: Regional Development and Prospective for Cooperation” within VIII Global Baku Forum, Report informs.
Azerbaijan’s victory changed the dynamics in the region, it was like a strategic earthquake. Such a change will lead to the creation of a new strategic look on everything, Cekuta said.
He noted that the conflict and occupation, which lasted for 30 years, had a negative impact on the population, so it was time to establish peace between the countries.
The former ambassador also noted the importance of the US and other countries in improving relations between the countries of the region.
