Ibrahim Kalin: No reason not to normalize relations with Armenia

“I think the processes in the future will develop rapidly and in a constructive manner. Our position on this topic is open and outright,” Turkish Presidential Spokesman Ibrahim Kalin said, as quoted by Report.

"Armenia is our neighbor, therefore we wish to open borders, start diplomatic relations. For this to happen, it is necessary to observe a number of conditions, discuss some issues. The activities of the special envoys are already connected with resolving these issues. The normalization of Armenia’s relations with Azerbaijan and Turkey will benefit the entire region. Armenia needs it more than anyone else. After all, Armenia is a poor, sparsely populated, landlocked small country with limited trade routes. Signing a peace treaty with Azerbaijan means creating ties. Normalizing relations with Turkey will lead to the development in many areas from border trade, border security to flights of Turkish Airlines. This is for the benefit of Armenia, the Armenian people," President Erdogan's speaker said.

Ibrahim Kalin believes that there are no more reasons not to normalize relations with Armenia.
