"Since the ceasefire was declared, all artillery fire has been stopped by Azerbaijan. This is the first. Second, we have never deliberately fired on civilians in any town or village in the occupied territories," President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said in an interview with France 24 TV channel.
"Our targets were only military installations. Our military targets have been very carefully defined. Therefore, we only hit targets that threaten the lives of our people and soldiers. But unfortunately, Armenians use tactics to deploy military installations in urban areas. We also had to defend ourselves. Since the ceasefire was established, we have been loyal to it, but Armenia violated the ceasefire, so we had to respond," the head of state noted.
