Our troops advanced in different directions of front: Defense Ministry

On October 16 and on the night of October 17, the operational situation in the Aghdara-Aghdam and Fizuli-Hadrut-Jabrayil regions of the front remained tense.

Our troops managed to break through the enemy's pre-built defensive lines in different directions, drive the enemy out of their positions, and, forcing him to flee, move forward.

The personnel of the Azerbaijan Army, who have accumulated combat experience as a result of successful military operations, occupy advantageous lines, heights, and positions in crucial directions.

As a result of the actions taken by the Azerbaijan Army during the day, a large number of manpower, 7 T-72 tanks, 2 BM-21 Grad MLRS, 8 D-30, and 1 D-20 howitzer were destroyed and disabled in different directions of the front -cannons, ten units of trucks with ammunition and seven units of other vehicles.

According to the information received, as a result of the combat activities, the 1st battalion of the 5th mountain rifle regiment of the Armenian armed forces, leaving its positions and a large number of killed and wounded, retreated.

Up to 300 reservists left their combat positions on the defensive line of the 1st motorized rifle regiment of Armenia's armed forces, retreated. Among the reservists, there are also many killed and wounded. The special police detachment members, attached to the regiment for strengthening, also left their combat positions and fled. There is a shortage of food and ammunition in the units of the division.

There were cases of disobedience to the officers due to the tiredness and despair of the personnel in the enemy units and refusal to enter the battle due to fear and anxiety.

Our troops retain operational superiority, inflicting damage on the enemy with precise fire along the entire front.
