Azerbaijan shouldn’t expect Armenia to hand the maps of minefields over to Baku, political scientist and military expert Alexander Perendzhiev told the Russian bureau of Report.
“After all, the Armenian side is trying to wage a hidden war against Azerbaijan and its population, including on the territory of the formerly occupied regions. They will continue to consider the non-issuance of these maps as an element of a hidden war with the aim of revenge for the lost territories. Therefore, the Azerbaijani side must continue to study the territories on its own and prevent civilians from entering lands that haven’t been surveyed by sappers,” he said.
The expert believes that if Armenia continues its policy, Azerbaijan will have to use force against various armed units located in Karabakh.
“A fundamental decision must be made here that the armed forces should either be disbanded or destroyed by the Azerbaijani forces. Azerbaijan has all the advantages, all the forces and powers to destroy them,” he added.
Commenting on the internal political situation in Armenia, the expert stressed that it cannot develop outside the processes in the South Caucasus and without focusing on Russia: “Armenia has two ways: either it will focus on Russia, or it will disappear as a state. There is no other option here.”
