Azerbaijan is counting down the days to the opening of the first major project in the liberated territories. Fuzuli International Airport will be opened with the participation of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, TRT Haber said in reportage on Fuzuli International Airport, Report informs.

The airport was built in the liberated city of Fuzuli by the joint efforts of Turkish and Azerbaijani engineers.

A 3,000-meter-long and 60-meter-wide runway has been put into operation at the airport, founded on January 14.

Passenger and cargo transportation between Baku and Fuzuli will take only half an hour.

“The first official welcoming ceremony will be held for Erdogan. President Recep Tayyip Erdogan became the first head of state to pay an official visit to the liberated lands. Fuzuli International Airport will be opened on October 26 with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan,” TRT Haber said.

Anadolu Agency also reported that Erdogan would address the opening ceremony of Fuzuli International Airport.

It will be the third visit of the Turkish leader to Azerbaijan during the last 12 months. Erdogan previously paid official visits to Azerbaijan on December 9, 2020, and June 15, 2021.
