Last year, up to 16.8 percent of Azerbaijan’s state budget expenditures, or 4,425.4 million manats, were directed to defense and national security, taking into account 670.3 million manats allocated from state investments and reserve funds envisaged in the state budget in order to strengthen the country’s defense potential and further improve the material and technical support of the Armed Forces.
This is 1,063.8 million manats, or 31.6 percent more than in 2019, reads the bill "On the execution of the state budget for 2020," Report informs.
According to the document, at the expense of funds additionally allocated from the budget for defense expenditures, the acquisition of new military equipment, additional cash support for servicemen sent to the frontline, a monthly official salary and an established monthly bonus to it during service were ensured.
The document will be submitted for discussion in the first reading at the plenary session of the Azerbaijani Parliament.
