Expedition "To the peak" organized on occasion of Victory Day in Azerbaijan

On the occasion of the second anniversary of the victory in the Second Karabakh War, an expedition to the “Zafar zirvasi” ("The Peak of the Victory") was organized with the participation of cadets of the National Defense University’s Military Institute named after Heydar Aliyev and media representatives, Report informs, citing the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry.

First, the climbers visited the Alley of Honor and the Alley of Martyrs, laid flowers at the grave of national leader Heydar Aliyev and the graves of Martyrs, who gave their lives for the territorial integrity and independence of Azerbaijan.

The participants of the expedition called "To the peak" overcame mountainous areas with difficult terrain along the designated route and climbed to the peak.

At the “Zafar zirvasi”, the expedition participants raised the State Flag of the Republic of Azerbaijan, performed the National Anthem, and honored the memory of Martyrs of the Second Karabakh War by observing a minute of silence.
