Official meeting held in Ministry of Defense

On March 7, the Minister of Defense, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov held an official meeting at the Central Command Post, Report informs, citing MoD.

Deputies of Minister of Defense, Commanders of types of troops, Chiefs of Main Departments, Departments, and Services of the Ministry attended the conference. Commanders of the Army Corps and formations stationed in the liberated territories and other officers were also involved in the meeting via video teleconference.

The Minister of Defense delivered to the meeting participants the tasks assigned to the Azerbaijan Army by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mr. Ilham Aliyev. The work done due to the attention and care of the state administration on further improvement of the social and living conditions and the moral-psychological state of servicemen was emphasized.

Having analyzed the situation on the Azerbaijani-Armenian state border and in the territory of Azerbaijan, where the Russian peacekeeping contingent is temporarily deployed, the Minister of Defense gave instructions on an immediate adequate response to possible provocations against the Azerbaijan Army Units, maintaining a constant high level of combat readiness, as well as practical training of units and command posts.

Having positively assessed the exercises and training courses held in the troops, the Minister gave relevant instructions on further increasing the level of the units’ combat capability, improving the knowledge and skills of the command staff, studying the capabilities of weapons and equipment recently adopted into the armament, as well as conducting exercises at nighttime and in the daylight hours in conditions close to real combat, taking into consideration the experience gained in the Patriotic War and modern combat methods.

In accordance with the instructions of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Mr. Ilham Aliyev, Colonel General Hasanov instructed to accelerate the application of the Turkish Armed Forces model in the Azerbaijan Army, including military education.

The importance of strengthening the logistics and medical support of the units, paying special attention to improving the service conditions of military personnel, the timely provision of servicemen with warm clothes and food was stressed.

The importance of organizing troops’ service in the units stationed in the liberated territories, clearing the area of mines and unexploded ordnance, improving military infrastructure, as well as maintaining roads in mountainous areas in constant working conditions, and paying special attention to safety rules was emphasized.

The Minister of Defense also gave specific instructions to carry out educational work in a planned manner, to further strengthen the ideological work and moral-psychological support so that the troops were always ready to perform combat missions.
