Regular conscription starts in Azerbaijan

In line with the September 3, 2021 presidential decree, regular conscription has started in Azerbaijan.

Under the decree, those born in 2003, and are 18 years old before the day of conscription (including that day), as well as those born in 1986-2002 years, who are up to 35 years old, are to serve in the Azerbaijani Armed Forces. Azerbaijani citizens, who have not done their active military service and do not have the right to defer conscription or are not exempted from conscription, will be called up for active military service from October 1 to 30, 2021, Report says.

The State Service for Mobilization and Conscription will send conscripts to active military service until October 30. The conscripts are being sent to their places of military service in accordance with decisions and recommendations of the Operational Headquarters under the Cabinet of Ministers over the COVID-19 pandemic.
