Chair of the Milli Majlis, Sahiba Gafarova, had a conversation with Secretary-General of the Economic Co-operation Organisation (ECO) Khusrav Noziri on 16 May, Report informs, citing the parliament’s press service.
The speaker of the Azerbaijani parliament said that Azerbaijan’s ECO membership would turn thirty years in 2022 and talked about the successful cooperation kept up all through the past period.
As the meeting continued, Sahiba Gafarova touched on subjects such as solidifying the Azerbaijan-ECO relationship, Azerbaijan’s victory in the 44-day Patriotic War and the new situation in the region following the conflict’s resolution, the work done to restore and rebuild the liberated territories, the importance of resuming communications and establishing new corridors and the run-up to the Third General Conference of the PAECO in Baku, amongst others.
Secretary-General Khusrav Noziri thanked Sahiba Gafarova for the meeting and the hospitality. According to him, this is his second travel to Azerbaijan, and the country made considerable progress.
Mr. Noziri described Azerbaijan as one of the more active ECO members and praised the preparations made for the conduct of the PAECO Third General Conference.
