The Central Election Commission (CEC) of Bulgaria has completed processing of the protocols of the election commissions and announced the official results of the voting, Report informs referring to TASS.
Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria (GERB) party in coalition with the Union of Democratic Forces (SDS) gained victory in the elections.
In total, representatives of six political associations were elected to the 45th National Assembly (Parliament) of Bulgaria. Some 26.18 percent of voters, or more than 837,000 people, cast their votes for the GERB party, which received 75 deputy mandates.
There Is Such A People party, gaining 565,000 votes (17.66 percent), became second and received 51 deputy mandates in the parliament. Bulgaria’s main opposition Socialist Party (BSP) was only the third, having received the support of about 480,000 voters (15.01 percent) and got 43 mandates.
The 45th parliament also includes the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (DPS) with about 336,000 votes (10.51 percent) and 30 seats in the parliament, Democratic Bulgaria - about 336,000 votes (9.45 percent) with 27 seats.
“Some 3.334 million people out of 6.789 million voters took part in the elections. The voter turnout was 50.51 percent,” said CEC Chairman Alexander Andreev.
The list of MPs will be ready on April 11.
