Super typhoon Yagi, with its ferocious winds, tore roofs off buildings and overturned heavy trucks.

The storm's impact on infrastructure has been severe, with 1.7 million households left without electricity due to the extensive damage caused to power grids. Repair crews are working tirelessly to restore power, while also focusing on clearing 89 roads that have been blocked by fallen trees and debris.

In addition to the power outages, the typhoon has also disrupted communication networks, with over 12,500 mobile phone base stations sustaining damage.

Transportation in Hainan has been significantly affected, with high-speed rail services expected to resume in the second half of September 7. The ferry service connecting the island to the mainland is likely to remain suspended until the evening of September 8. The international airport in Haikou also remains closed.
