European Union leaders are set to hold urgent discussions at the upcoming summit in Budapest on November 7-8, focusing on the bloc's future course of action following the victory of Republican candidate Donald Trump in the US presidential election, Report informs citing TASS.
The main topics on the agenda will be the risks of a new trade war between the EU and the United States, as well as the potential reduction of Washington's support for Ukraine. The informal gathering in the Hungarian capital will provide an opportune platform for the leaders to strategize and prepare for the consequences of Trump's presidency.
"This event is associated with two primary concerns here - the deterioration of economic relations with the US, potentially leading to a new trade war, and the possibility of decreased military assistance to Ukraine," the diplomat noted.
