EU to increase annual production of shells to 2 million in 2025

The European Union (EU) intends to increase the annual production of shells to 2 million in 2025 and then continue the trend, European Commissioner for the Internal Market Thierry Breton said in a video message to participants of the EU-Ukraine military industry forum, Report informs via TASS.

“I'm working to get the European economy into war mode so we can produce more and supply Ukraine with weapons today and in the future,” Breton said.

“The EU has invested €500 million from the EU budget in 31 industrial projects in 15 EU countries to produce projectiles over the past 10 months, reaching a level of 1 million shells per year, and intends to bring the production to 2 million shells next year and then continue to increase it further.”
