The third heat wave, the strongest of the current summer, brought abnormally high temperatures to Spain, exceeding 40 degrees Celsius, Report informs, citing the Spanish broadcaster RTVE.
In the five autonomous communities of Spain – Andalusia, Castile and Leon, Castile-La Mancha, Madrid, and the Basque Country, the highest level of danger has been declared due to unprecedented heat.
In Seville, the capital of Andalusia, the temperature on Wednesday rose to 44.6 degrees Celsius. In various parts of Granada, temperatures ranged from 42.6 to 44.1 degrees.
Meteorologists warn that the action of the third heat wave will last in Spain until Friday. On Thursday, the temperature will start to decrease, but the weather will remain extremely hot in the eastern and southern parts of the country.
