France, Hungary, Bulgaria block sanctions against Russia's nuclear power industry

France, Hungary and Bulgaria are blocking sanctions against Russia's nuclear power industry, including Rosatom, Report informs with reference to Polska Agencja Prasowa (РАР).

A source in the European Union said that France is the biggest supporter of nuclear cooperation with Rosatom, while Hungary has become the most vocal on this issue, "which refers to national security whenever possible sanctions are discussed."

According to PAP, Brussels has received information that Rosatom, which has not fallen under Western sanctions, is expanding its activities to other sectors of the economy.

Earlier, The Hill wrote that there are disagreements among European countries regarding the supply of Russian nuclear fuel and cooperation with Rosatom. According to its article, Poland, Ireland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Germany recommended the EU ban the import of Russian nuclear fuel.
